As one of New York University's largest and most prestigious student organizations, Model United Nations at NYU is home to several different branches catering to Model UN enthusiasts. These branches consist of Weekly Meetings, Travel Team, NYUMUNC, EmpireMUNC, and the UN Initiative. In addition to the main 5, other strategic initiatives are present in order provide new opportunities for member involvement.

Looking for an informal atmosphere to voice your opinion on latest developments in international affairs and discuss and debate with fellow peers and politicos? Come out to our weekly meetings that involve a brief presentation on topic for discussion followed by a timed debate. The new format for weekly meetings also entails occasional trainings on MUN skills and conversations with noted guest speakers.

Having made its debut in 2014, EmpireMUNC has already distinguished itself as an exceptional platform that brings together extremely rigorous and demanding debate with diplomacy and social dynamics. Having emerged into one of the most competitive conferences on the high school MUN circuit, EmpireMUNC will present its delegates with a mesh of joint-committee, historical, and futuristic crises and traditional General Assemblies, specialized committees, and ECOSOCs in its second iteration.
Professional Experience as a UN Liaison
Geared towards students with a professional interest in UN-related activities, this Initiative is the newest addition to NYUMUN. From organization of on-campus events of various UN bodies, to arrangement of student participation at international organizations and coordination with Permanent Missions of UN member states, the Initiative adds a distinct aspect of practical and impactful work.
