Establishing and maintaining the NYUMUN Global Network
NYU has adopted global expansion as a university-wide policy, actively encouraging clubs in New York to expand into portal campuses across the world. As one of the largest student organizations on campus, the Model United Nations possesses a unique potential of connecting the global sites through the plentitude of our members who study abroad throughout the year.
To reach the goal of connecting our community on a global scale, we have empowered some of the most dedicated members of our organization who will be studying abroad in the 2017-2018 academic year to establish NYUMUN branches in their portal campuses.
Five NYU campuses have been selected for expansion in the first year of this program: London, Shanghai, Abu Dhabi, Paris, and Washington D.C.
MUN Ambassadors will be undertaking the following activities at their portal sites:
1. Building a base of interest for NYUMUN based on a specific interactive program they propose and design for each site
2. Organizing weekly discussion meetings similar to the ones held in New York
3. Selecting a team to attend one conference and lead trainings for the members, effectively serving as Head Delegate(s) on the ground
4. Coordinate staffing and recruitment for NYUMUNC, EmpireMUNC, and SHMUNC for members returning to New York or Shanghai after the study abroad
